One restroom <br />building will be located adjacent to the boat launch parking area, the other will be adjacent to the <br />picnic shelter. The restroom building will use the same materials as the other buildings. A <br />drinking fountain will be located at the front of the buildings and waiting benches will be located <br />to the rear. <br /> <br />Commissioner Galatowitsch asked what type of material will be used on the roof of the <br />buildings. Mr. Hagen stated that the soffits will be cedar plywood, the fascia will be cedar and <br />the roof will be red asphalt shingles. <br /> <br />Chair Erickson asked if the walls will be a combination of rock face and burnished materials. <br />Mr. Hagen stated that the walls will be of smooth and burnished materials. Chair Erickson asked <br />what color the walls will be. Mr. Hagen stated that the walls will be dark tan. <br /> <br />Chair Erickson requested confirmation that Ramsey County was moving away from manned <br />concession stands. Mr. Mack stated that this was correct, although the Snail Lake and Long <br />Lake Regional Parks still have manned concessions. He noted that the use of the parks have <br />changed over time in that people use the parks for a much shorter period of time. Visitors to the <br />park now tend to bring their own refreshments and Ramsey County has begun providing vending <br />alcoves at all of its new facilities. <br /> <br />Commissioner Galatowitsch asked ifthe proposed plan included grills. Mr. Mack stated that <br />grills will be provided at each picnic shelter. Commissioner Galatowitsch asked if the grills will <br />be located on the outdoor concrete pads. Mr. Mack stated that this was correct and that at the <br />larger picnic shelter a grill will be provided inside. Additional grills will be provided in various <br />locations though out the park. <br /> <br />Commissioner Galatowitsch asked if the type of signage has been determined. Mr. Mack stated <br />that standard park signage will be used. Commissioner Galatowitsch asked if the signage will <br />match the proposed architecture and colors. Mr. Mack stated that the signs will not be a large <br />expense. He indicated that the monument signs will be timber and the regulatory signs will be <br />four by four foot panels painted with white lettering. <br /> <br />Chair Erickson asked if the existing signs will be used. Mr. Mack stated that the older existing <br />signs will be replaced. Chair Erickson asked if the regulatory sign at the boat landing will be <br />reinstalled. Mr. Mack stated that it will be. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sand asked what type oflighting will be used for security purposes. Mr. Mack <br />stated that soffit lighting will be used and there may be more creative lighting used at the gazebo. <br />He indicated that these lights may be on timers or may use motion detection. Commissioner <br />Sand expressed concern regarding the security of the restrooms and asked if motion detection <br />lighting will be used at these locations. Mr. Mack stated that the restrooms will be secured at <br />night by Ramsey County staff and reopened in the morning. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sand asked what the dark line shown on the plan that ran in front of the beach <br />building was depicting. Mr. Mack stated that this line was a definition of the beach area. <br />
