Mr. Chevallier requested they seek <br />approval from the local governing body, the City of Arden Hills. <br /> <br />Discussion <br />After discussion several issues surrounding this request, including the practicality of tying such <br />fire suppression retrofit into the planned new construction project; staffwas particularly <br />concerned with potential City liability problems in the event of a fire by granting such a time <br />extension. Building Inspector Scherbel has received direction from the State of Minnesota <br />Department of Public Safety State Fire Marshal Division. <br /> <br />The local governing body (the City of Arden Hills) may move to endorse the time extension, <br />deny or modify the time extension, or defer the matter to the State Fire Marshal. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that the City Council direct staff to defer the fire suppression system fire code <br />violation orders time extension at Mounds View High School to State Fire Marshal, Tom Brace. <br />
