<br />\ <br /> <br />.J <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY, JULY 5, 2000 <br />7:30 P.M. - ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL <br /> <br />DRAFT <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Acting Chair Marty Rye called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLLCALL <br /> <br />Present were Corrunissioners Stephen Baker, Terri Duchenes, Therese Galatowitsch, <br />Brent Nelson, and Marty Rye. <br /> <br />Absent were Chair Steve Erickson and Dave Sand <br /> <br />Also present Planner Jennifer Chaput, City Councilmember Lois Rem and Recording <br />Secretary Mary Mullen. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING HELD ON <br />JUNE 7. 2000 <br /> <br />Corrunissioner Duchenes moved, seconded by Corrunissioner Galatowitsch, to approve <br />the June 7, 2000 minutes. The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />PLANNING CASE #00-27 - A.L.B.S. - 1296 COUNTY ROAD F - SUP AMENDMENT - <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />Acting Chair Rye opened the public hearing at 7:34 p.m. <br /> <br />Ms. Chaput explained that the applicant is requesting an amendment to the SUP for 1296 County <br />Road F to allow the installation of one omni antenna onto the existing tower and the installation <br />of a new 100 amp service for the new cabinet from the local power company. <br /> <br />The property at 1296 County Road F is primarily used for a single antenna tower, with accessory <br />structures to support it. The existing antenna tower was constructed in 1972. Since this time, the <br />City's Zoning Ordinance has been amended to no longer allow antennas as a primary use in any <br />district ofthe City. The current Zoning Ordinance allows for antennas that are accessory to the <br />primary use on a property through the SUP process in all zoning districts. This application is for <br />an amendment to the original SUP to allow the installation of an antenna on the main antenna <br />tower. <br /> <br />The applicant requests the installation of an omni directional antenna to be placed at an elevation <br />of 265 feet on the existing antenna tower. The proposed antenna requires a six foot mount at this <br />elevation as well as a new platform and radio mount with GPS and microwave dish inside the <br />existing compound. <br /> <br />Section VI (1) #2 of the Zoning Ordinance states that, "Antennas, satellite dishes and towers are <br />allowed only as special accessory uses. They are therefore allowed only on property containing a <br />
