Remove the present gravel surfaced roofing membrane and insulation down to the top ofthe <br />existing steel deck. <br />2. Remove the felt base flashing from walls, curbs and roof edge cant. <br />3. Remove the sheet metal flashing room roof edge. <br />4. Haul away debris. <br /> <br />Carpentry <br /> <br />1. Install additional wood blocking at roof edge cant to accommodate new insulation thickness. <br />2. Install new wood support blocks under gas and electrical pipes. Set on a piece of closed-cell <br />styrofoam to protect roof. <br /> <br />Roof Insnlation <br /> <br />I. Loose lay %" perlite on steel deck. <br />2. Loose lay tapered EPS (1# density expanded polystyrene) over perlite. Total R = 22.22. <br />3. Create a sump at roof drains by tapering insulation down to improve drainage. <br />4.
