<br />e <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: Augnst 14, 2000 <br /> <br />TO: Mayor and City Conncil <br /> <br />FROM: Jennifer Chapnt, City Planner~ . <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Case #00-17c, Planned Unit Development (PUD) Amendment <br />United Properties, 1987 and 1887 Gateway Blvd <br /> <br />ReQnest <br />The applicant is requesting to amend the POO for the above listed properties to request <br />administrative approval on the following items: increasing the percentage of the <br />allowable office build-out square footage for each property; and relocation and <br />replacement or striping of additional parking spaces. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Backl!round <br />As of July 1, 2000, the management company for the abovc listed properties changed to <br />United Properties from Welsh Companies. The Plamling Commission tabled Planning <br />Case #00-17c at the July 5, 2000 Plamling Commission meeting due to the changc in <br />management and lack of representation. Since that time, the sixty day time limit was <br />waived by the previous applicant and the current management company was contactcd <br />and expressed his desire to continue with the application. <br /> <br />On Scptember 22, 1997, the City Council approved Planning Case #97 -06, POO Master <br />Plan and Final Plan (including variances), prcliminary and final plat, and street vacation <br />for the construction ofthrcc office/industrial buildings, addressed 1787, 1887 and 1987 <br />Gateway Blvd. Included for background information are as follows: Staff review and <br />recommendation of the application to the Plarming Commission, datcd July 2, 1997 <br />(Exhibit A) and rclevant attachments (Exhibit B); thc Plarming Commission's <br />rccommendation to the City Council, dated July 14, 1997 (Exhibit C); final City Council <br />action on the application (Exhibit D). <br /> <br />The Planning Commission heard this request at the April 5, 2000, Planning Commission <br />meeting as Planning Case #00-17. At that timc, the requcst was tabled pcnding further <br />information from the applicant. The Planning Commission rcviewed this request a <br />second timc as Plarming Case #00-17b at the Junc 7 meeting. A rccommendation was <br />made on all but two items, pending further information from staffregarding the <br />development agreement.
