<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS PLANNING COMMISSION - September 6, 2000 <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br />Commissioner Sand asked whether access to the City Hall facility will be available from <br />Hamline Avenue as well as Highway 96. Counci1member Larson stated he is unsure, adding he <br />has never seen a plan which indicated access from Hamline Avenue. Commissioner Sand stated <br />that access from Hamline Avenue is important, adding that access only from Highway 96 could <br />be difficult and dangerous. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sand stated that it will be important to have access to the City's complex from <br />Ham1ine Avenue in terms of long term planning. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson stated that Ramsey County has indicated they are reviewing possible <br />locations for the public works facility other than Highway 96. Commissioner Sand asked who is <br />the City's point person for the project. Councilmember Larson stated that Mayor Probst is <br />involved in every aspect ofthe process, and City staff playa big role. He noted that Terry Post <br />has been involved since the beginning. <br /> <br />Commissioner Duchenes requested a timeline for completion. Councilmember Larson stated it is <br />hoped that the facility will be open by the City's 50th anniversary celebration next year. He <br />added that winter construction will be necessary. <br /> <br />Commissioner Baker asked whether the 35W Corridor Coalition was handling the Highway <br />10/Highway 96 intersection review. Councilmember Larson stated that a firm had been retained <br />to do a more detailed analysis of Highway 10. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sand stated that park facilities in Tony Schmidt Park are being installed and look <br />very nice. He added they will be an asset to the City. <br /> <br />COMMISSION COMMENTS <br /> <br />Acting Chair Nelson stated that the Commission is invited to attend the September 18, 2000, <br />Council worksession, and should contact Jennifer Chaput. <br /> <br />Acting Chair Nelson stated that the Commission's next meeting agenda should include the <br />election of a new vice-chair. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Commissioner Duchenes moved, seconded by Commissioner Baker, to adjourn the meeting at <br />9:48 p.m. The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br />
