I

I
I
I
I
I
I
.
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
,
I

The proposed improvements will include landscaping around the perimeter of the basin.
The final design of the improvements will be coordinated with the Lake Josephine
Homeowners Association and the adjacent residents.

Ramline Channel Improvements: The Ramline channel generally runs from the
existing wetland between Ingerson Road and Tiller Lane to the southwest along Highway
51 until it joins with the Lambros Ditch which runs between Lake Josephine and Lake
Johanna. The proposed improvements include the regrading of the existing channel to
provide additional runoff detention storage capacity while introducing more natural
slopes and meanders as the topography and property constraints allow. It is anticipated
that a series of weirs may also be introduced into the channels to provide a permanent
pool volume while allowing high flows to pass without flooding. In addition the
improvements may include modifications to the existing wetland between Tiller Land and
Ingerson Road to reduce the "short circuiting" of runoff along the western side of the
wetland which currently exists. Any modifications to the wetland will need to be closely
coordinated with the Rice Creek Walershed and adjacent property owners.

Proposed Water main/Sanitarv Sewer Improvements

Watermain
The project includes for the relocation of existing fire hydrants along the streets proposed
to be reconstructed as necessary. The proposed roadways will have different curb lines
and widths from Ihe existing streets and some existing hydrant locations may conflict
with the new roadway locations. Hydrants will be evaluated at the time of relocation to
determine whether they should be replaced due to underground corrosion or valve control
problems, etc. Replacement or relocation of a small amount of walermain to allow for
storm sewer construction is also anticipated. The final scope of watermain relocation will
be determined as a part of the final design. The existing watermain in the neighborhood
does not have a history of excessive breakslleaks and is not proposed 10 be replaced en
masse.

Sanitary Sewer
The project area sanitary sewers have been televised as a part of the 1999 Sanitary Sewer
Rehabilitation project. The results of the televising have indicated that a large segment
of sanitary sewer main within the project area is in very poor condition. Based upon
review of the televising reports, the proposed improvements include the reconstruclion of
approximately 850 feet of sanitary sewer. By performing the repair work in conjunction
wilh the street improvements. the cost to the sanitary sewer utility fund is minimized.

7
