<br />DRAFT <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS PARKS, TRAILS & RECREATION COMMITTEE <br />SEPTEMBER 26, 2000 <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />REOUEST FOR OUALIFICA TIONS, PRESENTATION FOR PROPOSED <br />COMPREHENSIVE PARK PLAN <br /> <br />At 7:00 p.m., Mr. Greg Ingraham ofIngraham and Associates presented his firm's projected <br />Master Plan for a Comprehensive Park Plan for the City of Arden Hills. Mr. Ingraham listed as <br />his credentials service as the former Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of <br />Bloomington, MN; development of the City of New Brighton's Comprehensive Park Plan; and <br />the recent Needs Assessment for the Mounds View School District. <br /> <br />Mr. Ingraham reviewed their firm's proposed Master Plan if their firm were chosen to provide <br />the Comprehensive Park Plan; and provided several potential activities that would be pursued. <br /> <br />The Committee posed questions to Mr. Ingraham, which he responded to accordingly. <br /> <br />PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR REPORT <br /> <br />Mr. Moore provided an update on current activities including draining of irrigation systems; re- <br />keying of the warming houses; Ramsey County proposed signage for several crosswalks between <br />trails; and a recently-completed tree inventory and proposed future maintenance of trees within <br />the City's numerous parks. <br /> <br />RECREATION PROGRAM SUPERVISOR REPORT <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Ms. Olson provided a staff memo entitled, "Summer Program Report Summary," and verbally <br />reviewed highlights of the summer programs. <br /> <br />Mr. Crassweller inquired about the possibility of providing more personal solicitation, rather <br />tharJ just distribution of flyers and brochures to students. Ms. Olson expressed concern with <br />willingness of school officials and teachers to available time and classroom interruptions; <br />however, staff indicated they would research the possibilities. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant requested, and staff responded to, potential for expansion of the City's <br />soccer program for older children. <br /> <br />Ms. Olson requested suggestions for volunteer manpower assistance with the upcoming Pumpkin <br />Hunt scheduled for October 2ih. <br /> <br />Ms. Olson indicated continuing problems encouraging timely registrations for upcoming after <br />school programs for Skyhawks. <br /> <br />e <br />
