<br />I <br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />tit <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />September 29, 2000 <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />Jennifer Chaput, City PlanneW <br /> <br />Request for Qualifications for Water Management Plan <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Request <br />The City Council is asked to approve the preparation and solicitation ofRFQ's for engineering <br />services for a water management plan. <br /> <br />Back!!round <br />The City Council, at its July 31, 2000 meeting, discussed the need for the City to complete a <br />water management plan as a requirement by Rice Creek Watershed District and, in turn, the <br />Metropolitan CounciL The City's Comprehensive Plan has been found to be complete by the <br />Metropolitan Council with the exception ofthis one item. Rice Creek Watershed District updated <br />their plan in 1997, which requires all cities within the district to have an updated water <br />management plan in 1999. <br /> <br />RFO <br />The purpose of the RFQ is to obtain information about engineering firms that may be interested <br />in submitting proposals for the project. The RFQ would allow the City to develop a short list of <br />firms who would be asked to submit proposals for the project. <br /> <br />The type of information which will be requested in the RFQ is: <br />- Size of firm <br />- Background of company <br />- List of education and experience of professionals in firm <br />- Expense with similar projects <br />- Management ability with budget/time schedules <br />- List of expectations of qualified firms <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends the Council authorize preparation and solicitation of the request for <br />qualifications for engineering services for a water management plan. <br />
