The <br />underground space that i$ currently used as a drywell for pump hardware wjJ] be converted into a <br />wet well which will double the wet well capacity and therefore increase the ',ime before backups <br />would occur in an outage. The project includes replacing the pumps with new submersible <br />pumps designed 10 operate inside the wet well with valves and controls located outside of thc wet <br />well. The proposed lift station improvcments will essentially be located underground with the <br />exception of a stainle$s steel control panel and two 3" diameter ventilation pipes. The control <br />panel will include a generator hookup so lhc city can operate thc station by generator if necessary. <br />The station will be configured to accommodate an addilional pump in the future if necessary, <br /> <br />A portion of the demolition and removal work necessary for the project will be done by City slaff <br />in ordcr to salvage equipment properly and reduce the overall project CDS!. <br /> <br />The current Engineer's eSlimate for this project is approximatcly $170,000.00, Thc City budgel <br />includes $175,000 for the project. <br /> <br />Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The City has implemented a samtary sewer rehabilitation program and has budgelcd $100,000 for <br />rehabilitalion work ifl 2.001. It is proposed lhat the 2001 program include the test and seal of the e <br />sanitary trunk main that flow$ from Fernwood Avcnue and County Road F south 10 Lift Station <br />#8. This trunk main was televised in 1999 and shows heavy ground water infiltration. Flow rates <br />through this pipe have been shown TO double during wet periods, Also proposed to be included in <br />this project are spot rcpairs on sections of sanitary scwer on Ingerson Road, Shoreline Lane, and <br />Lake Lane which include severe cracking and broken pipe $ections detected during the 1999- <br />televising project. <br /> <br />Sanitary Sewer Teleyising <br /> <br />The City has implemenled a sanitary sewer-televising program and has budgeted $25,000 <br />televising every two years. It is proposcd this years televising program include the area bound by <br />1-694, Old Highway 10 and Chatham A venue.
