<br />. ." <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />D..I""1;;A.h""T. <br />. ,".'" \\ I.,,"' I <br />. ~'\t.' ~ <br /> <br />AGREEMENT <br />LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES <br /> <br />This is an Agreement between the County of Ramsey (hereinafter refcrred to as <br />the "COUNTY"), and the City of~horev'ieviXhereinafter referred to as tile <br />"MUNICIP ALITY"), to provide law enforcement services to the MUNICIPALITY for <br />the period commencing January 1,2001. <br /> <br />WITNESSETH: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the COUNTY has a historical and legal obligation to provide police <br />protection to the MUNICIPALITIES. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the COUNTY has contracted to provide law enforcement services to <br />the cities of Arden Hills, Gem Lake, Little Canada, North Oaks, Vadnais Heights, and <br />White Bear Township (hereinafter referred to as thc "MUNICIPALITIES"), and it would <br />bc advantageous to the MUNICIPALITY to also contract with the COlJ'"NTY for similar <br />law enforcement services, thereby allowing for the allocation of overhead and other <br />administrative costs over a larger population; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the parties to this Agreement intend to contract with the COUNTY <br />for law enforcement functions within the political boundaries of the MUNICIP ALITY <br />through the Ramsey County Sheriff; and <br /> <br />\VHEREAS, the COUNTY is agreeable to rendering such services on the terms <br />and conditions hereinafter set forth; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such contracts are authorized and provided for by the provisions of <br />Minnesota Statutes Sections 47L59 and 436.05, and Laws 1959, Chapter 372. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION OF the mutual undertakings set <br />f011h herein, the COUNTY and the MUNICIPALITY agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />L The COUNTY agrees, through the Ramsey County Sheriffs Departmcnt, <br />to provide law enforcement services to the MUNICIPALITY which will <br />include, but not be limited to, the following: <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />Patrol services with random patrolling ofresidential areas, <br />businesses, parks, and other public property areas; <br />Enforcement of Minnesota State Statutes and the ordinances ofthc <br />MUNICIPALITY. <br />Traffic Enforcement including the regular use ofradar or laser as a <br />speed deterrent; <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />c. <br />
