<br />ARDEN HlLLS CITY COUNC1L WORKSESSION - OCTOBER 15,2001 <br /> <br />D, 'J~\ ,t:, r'H_~ <br />" ," \b ,,':j;, ",- ~ <br />.- u ~i:-"\<.b. 11 <br /> <br />Case #01-25, Guidant Corporatiou, Sil!n Ordinance Variauce (Water Tower <br />Sil!nal!c) <br />City Planner Panish provided a review of the request by Guidant Corporation for <br />signage on their water tower. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />After discussion, Council consensus was that it would be difficult to interpret that <br />a hardship existed, as recommended by the Planning Commission; but that <br />allowing the signage did not have any material impact on adjacent properties. <br /> <br />Staff was directed to bring the case forward at the next regular City Council <br />meeting, based on support of the Council if the case was argued on the unique <br />nature of the ean1pus and that the signage would be predominantly visible only <br />internally. Staff was further directed to make it a condition that Guidant maintain <br />the exterior appearance of the water tower. <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY <br /> <br />Pavement Manal!ement Plan (PMP) <br />Continuing discussion of the City's PMP was held. <br /> <br />Staff was directed to make the following revisions and include the PMP on the <br />Consent Calendar at their October 29,2001 regular meeting: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. Communi tv Street: Recomm.cBded Street Width: Case Specific (32 feet <br />minimmn) <br />. Neighborhood Street: Recommended Street Width: 30 feet minimum <br />. Residential Street: Recommended Street Width: 28 feet minimum <br />. Special Cases: Reeomrneaded Street Width: Case Specific <br />. Add Footnote: Street width is measured from face to face. <br />. Under "Additional Considerations for Street Width Determination," second <br />paragraph, add "All street reconstruction and new street construction in Arden <br />Hills will include concrete curb and gutter for a number of reasons: ... <br /> <br />Staff was further directed to bring forward a copy of the existing Assessment <br />Policy for review and revision at a future Worksession. Areas needing <br />clarification included comer lot calculation; preparation of a one-page, "user- <br />friendly" informational handout for residents; determination of assessments based <br />on the bid price or an index value. <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION <br /> <br />Codification Process/Schedule <br />Councilmembers briefly discussed the items highlighted in the City Code by <br />Councilmember Rem, and expressed their appreciation of her work.
