J! <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski stated she had heard from a contact that the County was moving <br />forward. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant requested stafflook at the City Emergency Response Management Plan <br />given the recent events of September I I, 200 I. He stated he agreed there might be some <br />additional items that could be added or changed. He noted there are a number of emergencies <br />that are more involved than natural disasters. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem stated the Newsletter Committee was meeting this Wednesday to wrap up <br />this month's issue. She noted additional persons and entities that had requested the City <br />Newsletter, which were Senator Reiter, Representative Krinkie, Commissioner Bennett, Arden <br />Hills/Shoreview Bulletin, Northwestern College, Bethel College, and Presbyterian Homes. She <br />added she wanted the Council to be aware of the request. She stated they had assumed the Jocal <br />businesses were getting the Newsletter. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated he concurred it was in the city's best interest to send the Newsletter to the <br />persons and entities indicated. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson thanked the Council for the cards and condolences received after the <br />death of his father. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson stated there was no edge marker on the part of old Snelling that was <br />rcpaved. He noted this made it very difficult for cars and pedestrians. Mr. Moore responded he <br />had called Mr. Vince Schwartz several times and was only able to leave voice mail messages. <br />He stated Mr. Schwartz, Ramsey County Department of Public Works and Highway <br />Maintenance Supervisor of signs and pavement markings. He noted he would continue to try to <br />reach Mr. Schwartz. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski stated the City used to send about 25 newsletters over to <br />Presbyterian Homes. She noted the Events Committee has not met recently. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated he met with a party representing another company wanting to discus the <br />TCAAP project. He noted he had indicated to the representative that if the company was <br />interested, the representatives should make a presentation to the entire City Council. He added <br />he anticipates that they might want to come to the November 19, 20001 Worksession to discuss <br />an approach. He stated he had been approached several months ago by a consulting firn1 about <br />another entity. He noted he has had no further contact. He added he was not sure if this meant a <br />lack of interest. He stated there were four parties that had approached the City regarding a <br />proposed transaction. He noted the Council could elevate the Arsenal property discussion. He <br />added the Council should address how it wished to proceed along that path, not only as it relates <br />to deveJopment, but to get the Maintenance facility back on track. He stated the entities had a <br />strong interest in the City making a decision on how it wants to proceed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant stated he appreciated the work the staff had done in terms of the new City <br />Hall. He noted every staffmemher had been involved in bringing the building to the point where e <br />they could have a Council meeting. He added he wanted to express his appreciation for all that <br />work. <br />
