<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO.: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL FOR LAND <br />DISTURBANCE ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />The Arden Hills City Council ordains that Chapter 8.5 and its Subdivisions is added to the <br />Arden Hills Municipal Code to read as follows: <br /> <br />8.5 Erosion and Sediment Control <br /> <br />Sec. 8.5-1. Purnose. The purpose of this regulation is to control or eliminate soil erosion and <br />sedimentation within the city of Arden Hills. The regulation establishes standards and <br />specifications for conservation practices and planning activities which minimize soil erosion and <br />sedimentation. <br /> <br />Sec. 8.5-2. Definitions. For the purposes of this ordinance, the following terms have tlJe <br />meanings given them in this section: <br /> <br />A. District. "District" means tlJe Ramsey Soil and Water Conservation District. <br /> <br />B. Erosion and Sediment Practice Soecifications or Practices. "Erosion and <br />Sediment Practice Specifications" or "Practices" means the management <br />procedures, techniques, and metlJods to control soil erosion and sedimentation as <br />officially adopted by the District. <br /> <br />C. Develooer. "Developer" means a person, firm, corporation, sole proprietorship, <br />partnership, state agency or political subdivision thereof engaged in a Land <br />Disturbance Activity. <br /> <br />D. Erosion. "Erosion" means any process that wears away the surface of the land by <br />the action of water, wind, ice, or gravity. Erosion can be accelerated by the <br />activities of man and nature. <br /> <br />E. Erosion and Sediment Control Plan. "Erosion and Sediment Control Plan" means <br />a document containing the requirements of Section 8.5-3 that when implemented <br />will decrease soil erosion on a parcel of land and off-site sediment damages. <br /> <br />F. <br /> <br />Land Disturbance Activitv. "Land Disturbance Activity" means land change that <br />may result in soil erosion from water or wind and the movement of sediments into <br />
