ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - JULY 9, 2001

6

Councilmember Aplikowski asked if the sign in the new city hall interior wall would be changed .
to the new logo. Mr. Post responded current plans do not reflect the new logo. The signs should
be changed to incorporate the new logo.

Mayor Probst concurred with Councilmember Aplikowski. He stated if they could not afford the
change to the new logo he would take it out and get a credit from the contractor.

Councilmember Aplikowski publicly thanked staff and the volunteers for their hard work on the
anniversary celebration.

Mayor Probst thought it would be a good idea to sign a formal thank you letter to recognize the
incredible effort that was put forth.

Councilmember Aplikowski stated most of the bills would be in by the end of the week for the
celebration and she would have a proposal for a scaled down version of the celebration by the
next council meeting. She noted the history book and video was coming along slowly.

Councilmember Rem stated she received an invitation for a meeting of the Ramsey County
Commissioners on the Ramsey County Public Works facility tomorrow afternoon from 1:30 to
3:00 p.m.

Mayor Probst stated he received a request from Mr. Vaughan's attorney to meet with the
Councilmembers.

.

Councilmember Aplikowski stated they should meet with all Councilmembers in one room at
one time. Councilmember Rem concurred.

Mayor Probst directed staff to invite Mr. Vaughan's attorney to speak at a future work session.
He stated Ms. Elizabeth Link had asked if she would attend the July 16 worksession. After
discussion, Mayor Probst noted he would tell her it was not necessary for her to be there.

Mayor Probst stated he would be vacationing from August 10 for about two weeks. He
requested staffto attempt a recap on the impact of the recent legislative session. He stated that in
the next newsletter they should run a piece inviting residents to contact staff if they are interested
in purchasing buoys for any of the lakes. He noted if there was interest, then they should
purchase some buoys to be made available at cost.

Councilmember Rem stated the Lake Johanna Improvements Society could look at this issue.

Councilmember Grant stated he was in favor of providing a name, address and cost structure for
buoys. He noted he did not feel they would have enough interest to get a significant discount on
purchase. He added they should leave it to the residents and homeowners to purchase.

.
