<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />SECTION VII. PERMITTED SIGN TYPE, AREA, HEIGHT AND <br />ILLUMINATION BY SIGN DISTRICT <br /> <br />Permitted Sil!n Type. Area. Heil!ht and Illumination by Silw District. All signs, unless <br />specifically regulated in Section XI, Special Sign Types, shall conforn1 to the applicable standards <br />in the following Table One: Sign Standards by Sign District. <br /> <br />Definition of Permitted Silw Types and LiI!htinl! <br /> <br />A. Sign types <br /> <br />1. Wall sign: A sign mounted parallel to the building facade. Wall signs may not <br />extend more than 18" from the wall they are attached to. <br /> <br />2. Freestanding sign: A self supporting sign on poles, standards or any other base <br />anchored to the ground. No more than one freestanding sign is permitted on any <br />si te. See the special design requirements for freestanding signs in the Lexington <br />A venue Commercial Sign Overlay Distlict in Section XI. C <br /> <br />Freestanding signs must be must located to provide at least a I ft. setback from any <br />property line. If the bottom edge of the sign copy is not located more than 10 ft <br />above the ground with supports that do not encroach on the clear vision of <br />approaching traffic from any exit from the site, the sign must be located to preserve <br />the following clear vision area. <br /> <br />The clear vision area shall be an area within a triangle created beginning at the <br />intersection of the mid point of the dliveway and the curb or edge of pavement line <br />of the street, and extending 35 ft. in the direction of approaching traffic and 25 ft <br />toward the interior of the property, and then a line connecting these two points. <br /> <br />3. Projecting sign: A sign, other than a wall sign, that is attached to and projects <br />from the building facade. Projecting signs are not permitted <br /> <br />4. Roof sign: A sign mounted on the roof of a building or on a parapet wall. Roof <br />signs are not pern1itled. <br /> <br />5. Auxiliary sign: A sign solely providing direction for internal circulation, parking <br />or entry, restrictions on parking, or security wamings. Only non illuminated <br />auxiliary signs are permitted, and no part of the sign may display a product or logo <br />message. <br /> <br />6.
