<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />October 12, 2001 <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Joe Lynch, City Administrator ~PJ <br /> <br />Terrance Post, City Accountan~ <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Fiuance Department Third Quarter Report <br /> <br />Finance Department (myself and Senior Accounting Clerk Sandy Berres) activities for the last <br />quarter can be summarized by two key points - (1) My medical leave due to health problems, and <br />(2) Supporting normal business transactions (i.e., payroll, payables, utility billing and utility <br />account maintenance). <br /> <br />Departmental staffing remains. 5 FTE low because of the unfilled Customer Service <br />Representative (CSR) IIlIntermediate Accounting Clerk position. This vacancy is causing me to <br />spend more time on transactions and maintenance (e.g. final utility bills) and less time on budget <br />and financial reporting matters. <br /> <br />Out of the ordinary items during the last quarter included attendance at the annual Minnesota <br />Government Finance Officers Association (MGFOA) conference; receipt and first use of the <br />Badger Mini-Mobile water meter reading collector; time spent supporting the new City Hall <br />construction project; the Presbyterian Homes development proposal and information meeting; <br />attending Labor Management Committee meetings; and providing mentoring support for the new <br />City Planner. <br /> <br />On a professional development note, I have been elected to the Executive Board of the <br />Minnesota Government Finance Officers Association. <br />
