Paul, Minnesota 55101.5145 <br />Phone: 651/215-0500 FAX: 651.215.0525 TTY: 651/282-6555 <br />Internet: http://www.dps.state.mn.us <br /> <br />rnillffi~u <br /> <br />FIRE WATCH GUIDELINES <br />Mounds View High School <br /> <br />DURATION: From September 6,2001 until automatic fire alarm system is <br />completely installed and operational and egress system penetrations are corrected. <br /> <br />TIME OF OPERATION: During normal student and staff occupancy hours; <br />approximately a7.e6 until 15:00 hrs. <br />oWS <br />MINIMUM STAFFING: Two (2) firefighters trained in incipient firefighting; <br />recommend that personnel be certified as Firefighter II or higher. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS: Be able to have rNo-way communication wiih each other and <br />Ramsey County Dispatch Center (911 or 484-3366). <br /> <br />DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: <br />1. Ensure that egress paths are clear of obstructions and identified, <br />2. Assist with the orderly evacuation of occupants in the event of a fire or similar <br />emergency, <br />3. Conduct firefig!1tingduties of an incipient nature; personnel are not expected to <br />conduct interior structural firefighting beyond what can be extinguished with <br />portable fire extinguishers, <br />4. Inspect construction work being performed (especiallyhot work) to ensure that <br />proper safety precautions are being followed, <br />5. Continually monitor the building}or obstructions or possible delays to egress, <br />6. Continually monitor the building for fire hazards (open flames, electrical hazards, <br />etc.), <br />7. Inspect fire protection equipment (sprinkler valves, fire alarm control panel, and <br />portable fire extinguishers) at least daily, <br />8.
