<br />.. <br /> <br />Letter of Understanding <br />Between the City of Arden Hills <br />And <br />North Metro I-35W Corridor Coalition <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into by the City of Arden Hills (Arden Hills), a <br />public corporation and political subdivision of the State of Minnesota, and the North Metro 1- <br />35W Corridor Coalition (Coalition), a coalition of governmental units exercising powers <br />pursuant to a joint exercise of powers agreement under Minnesota Statutes section 471.59. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Coalition has designed, developed and maintains a geographic information <br />system (GIS) for the seven member Coalition and intends to establish through cooperative <br />efforts critical updates and enhancements to the system, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Coalition will promote effective, responsive and efficient GIS capabilities <br />within the seven member Coalition that will help reduce the overall cost to the public and <br />improve GIS services, products and data access through cooperative sharing of GIS data and <br />resources; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS the Coalition, comprised of the cities of Arden Hills, Blaine, Circle Pines, <br />Mounds View, New Brighton, Arden Hills and Shoreview, desires to enter into this Letter of <br />Understanding to utilize office space in Arden Hills city hall for the purpose of providing an _ <br />office for the Coalition's GIS Coordinator function that will be provided by St. Croix Valley . <br />Technologies, Inc, a Wisconsin corporation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills is willing to permit the Coalition to utilize space in its <br />city hall complex under the terms and conditions of this Letter of Understanding. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, Arden Hills and the Coalition agree to the following. <br /> <br />ARTICLE I. <br />TERMS AND CONDITIONS <br /> <br />Definitions. For the purposes of this agreement, the terms used herein shall have the <br />following meaning unless otherwise indicated in this agreement: <br /> <br />Arden Hills means the City of Arden Hills, a public corporation and political subdivision of <br />the State of Minnesota, <br /> <br />Geol!:raphic Information Svstem (GIS) means a computer-based technology that consists of <br />computer hardware, software, data and trained personnel designed to efficiently capture, store, <br />update, analyze and display all forms of geographically references electronic information. <br /> <br />. <br />
