The cost of this vehicle with sales tax and license included is $21,695.28. It will cost an additional $1,000.00 to have the vehicle painted Arden Hills tan. Utilities, complete with sales tax will cost $7,682.81. The utilities include a Boss RT3-82V snow plow, with a smart hitch system, a headache rack, Whelen 3-lite safety system, and a DUI- 1213000 watt inverter. The final cost for this vehicle, including sales tax and license, is $29,378.09. The cost breakdown is listed below: . Vehicle . Painting . Utilities $21,695.28 $1,000.00 $7,682.81 Budl!et Surplus e The 2002 Parks CIP budget for the replacement of Parks vehicle #2 is $42,000. The final cost of the replacement vehicle is $29,378.09. This leaves a budget surplus of$12,621.91. State Surplus Auction There is a fall session of the State Surplus Auction. Staff anticipates that vehicle #2 will sell for approximately $3,500.00. There is a 7% service charge for participating in the auction. The service charge on a $3,500.00 sales price would be $245.00. This would result in a net profit of $3,245.00 from the sale of vehicle #2. The net profit is considered revenue and is directed to the General Fund, and can not be directed to defer the cost of the new replacement vehicle. Recommendation Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the purchase of a new 2002 Ford F250 Super Duty 4x4 pickup, painted according to Arden Hills specs and installation of the proper truck utilities at a cost not to exceed $29,378.09. Staff further recommends that vehicle #2 be placed in the fall se5sion of the State Surplus Auction. e
