<br />~~~\ - <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson stated he believed that something should be sent to retain some ability to ., <br />influence the decisions of the people who were building highways through their community, <br /> <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />MARCH 11,2002 <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant asked if the League of Minnesota Cities were active on this front and <br />asked if they were they opposing this Legislation. He stated if Council sent a letter, he wanted a <br />copy sent to the League as well. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst directed staff to draft a letter for his signature with a copy sent to the League of <br />Minnesota Cities. <br /> <br />Mr. Lynch stated he handed out the conclusion of the parks/trails study, He indicated this study <br />would be reviewed by the PTRC this month and would be discussed at the March 18 <br />worksession. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson requested the PTRC prepare a five-year projection. <br /> <br />COllilcilmember Grant strongly encouraged the PTRC to prioritize items for the next five years, <br />He indicated a year-to-year study did not make sense. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst agreed with the request of COllilcilmembers Larson and Grant. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Councihnember Grant stated there was a Joint Maintenance Facility meeting on March 15, 2002. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst and Mr. Lynch updated Council on the developments regarding the maintenance <br />facility, <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson requested the School District be informed of the same information that <br />they had provided to the County. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski requested the City not get so restrictive on their own space that a <br />few years down the road, they are looking for more space. She requested they stay open minded <br />on that and not be so concerned about what everything was costing. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant asked if Council wanted to give any direction or thoughts to the Task <br />Force. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst requested the Task Force takes a hard look at how the City does business. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski indicated the City Hall dedication was going to be April 20, 2002. <br />She stated they were planning on having a business luncheon the day before. She indicated the <br />purpose of the business lllilcheon would be to thank the corporate sponsors, and she would have <br />more information regarding this at the next meeting. e <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski stated the Day the Park was shaping up. She indicated there was <br />now a co-chair for the event. She stated they did, however, need more money to make this event <br />
