<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />~ <br />~~ILLS <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: February 27, 2002 <br /> <br />TO: Planning Commission <br />FROM: Aaron Parrish, City Plauner ;1f <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Case #02-01 <br />AT&T Wireless <br />Special Use Permit Amendment <br /> <br />Request <br /> <br />The applicant is requesting a an amendment to their existing Special Use Permit to add 3 <br />additional antennas to the 3 existing antenna arrays. There are currently 6 AT&T <br />antennas already on the Femwood Water Tower. <br /> <br />Special Use Permit Analvsis <br /> <br />A Special Use Permit is required for all antennas and communications towers within the <br />City. In addition, there are specific requirements in the zoning ordinance for siting <br />antennas on a City water tower. These special requirements include: <br /> <br />Special Requirements for City Water Tower Sites. The placement of licensed commercial <br />wireless telecommunication services, including cellular, personal communication <br />services (PCS), specialized mobilized radio (SMR), enhanced mobilized radio (ESMR), <br />paging and similar services on water sites will be allowed only when the City is fully <br />satisfied that the following requirements are met: <br /> <br />a. The applicant's access to the facility will not increase the risks of <br />contamination to the City's water supply; <br /> <br />b. There is sufficient room on the structure and/or on the grounds to <br />accommodate the applicant's facility; <br />
