<br />City of Arden Hills Personnel Policy <br /> <br />Effective June 29, 2002 <br /> <br />MILITARY LEAVE <br /> <br />Military leave will be granted to eligible employees in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, <br />Section 192.26. An employee who is a member of the national guard, or any other <br />component of the militia of the state, or who is a member of the officers' reserve corps, the <br />enlisted reserve corps, the naval reserve, the marine corps reserve, or any other component of <br />the military or naval forces of the United States, is entitled to leave of absence without <br />demotion or loss of pay, seniority status, efficiency rating, Personal Time Off, or other <br />benefits for the time which such employee is engaged in training or active service not <br />exceeding a total of fifteen (15) days in any calendar year. <br /> <br />The military leave of absence is allowed only if the employee returns to employment <br />immediately upon being relieved from military or naval service, or is prevented from so <br />returning by physical or mental disability or other cause not the fault of the employee, or is <br />required by the proper authority to continue in military or naval service beyond the IS-day <br />period allowed for the military leave of absence. <br /> <br />Notice of intent to take military leave must be given to the employee's department manager at <br />least five working days after receipt of orders by the employee and not less than 24 hours <br />prior to the date of leave. If orders are received at a time, which would make compliance with <br />this provision impossible, the employee shall give notice as soon as possible. <br /> <br />26 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br />
