<br />City of Arden 11il1s Personnel Policy <br /> <br />Effective June 29, 2002 <br /> <br />REMEDIAL ACTION <br /> <br />Any employce who fcels he/she is being subjected to discrimination, harassment or <br />inappropriate behavior should immediately contact: their immediate supervisor, or the City <br />Administrator. If the accused person is the City Administrator, an employee may also contact <br />the Mayor. The employee is encouraged to speak with any of the people listed above with <br />whom they feel the most comfortable. Complaints of discrimination, harassment and <br />inappropriate behavior will be kept as confidential as possible while the matter is thoroughly <br />investigated and promptly dealt with. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Investigation. When making a complaint, the employee should be prepared to <br />provide the following information. <br />. Employee's name, department and position title. <br />. The name of the person or persons committing the discrimination, <br />harassment and/or inappropriate behavior, including their title(s), if <br />known. <br />. The specific nature of the discrimination, harassment and/or <br />inappropriate behavior, how long it has gone on, and any employment <br />action (demotion, failure to promote, dismissal, refusal to hire, transfer, <br />etc.) taken against the complainant as a result of the discrimination, <br />harassment and/or inappropriate behavior. <br />. Witness(es) to the discrimination, harassment and/or inappropriate <br />behavior. <br />. Whether the complainant has previously reported or discussed such <br />discrimination, harassment and/ or inappropriate behavior and if so, when, <br />to whom, or with whom. <br /> <br />When an allegation of discrimination, harassment and/or inappropriate <br />behavior is made by any employee, the person to whom the complaint is made <br />shall immediately prepare a written report of the complaint according to the <br />preceding section and submit it to the City Administrator. In the event the <br />discrimination, harassment and/ or inappropriate behavior complaint is against <br />the City Administrator, the report shall be submitted to the Mayor. The <br />employee who is accused of discrimination, harassment and/ or inappropriate <br />behavior may be placed on administrative leave while the investigation is being <br />conducted. An investigation of the complaint of discrimination, harassment <br />and/ or inappropriate behavior will be investigated and a written report shall be <br />completed by the investigator. <br /> <br />42 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br />
