Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Center Filing Letter <br /> <br />This premises permit renewals involves the applicant's request to continue Class A charitable <br />gambling activities at the Pot O'Gold Bingo Hall for the period from October I, 2002 to <br />September 30, 2004. <br /> <br />Backl!:ronnd <br />St Katherine Ukrainian Orthodox Church is an Arden Hills-based organization that only <br />conducts licensed charitable gambling activities at the Pot O'Gold Bingo Hall in Arden Hills. St. <br />Katherine Ukrainian Orthodox Church complied with City of Arden Hills ordinance trade area <br />spending requirements by expending $82,394 in local trade area donations during the October <br />2000 to June 2001 twenty-one (21) month staff review period. Recipients receiving donations in <br />excess of $5,000 include St. John the Baptist School ($15,000); St. Odilia School ($15,000); ISD <br />621 ($9,250); Arden Hills Park Fund ($8,000); and Northwest Youth & Family Services <br />($7,000). <br /> <br />The $3,000 donation to the Ukrainian Education and Cultural Center is to a separate legal <br />corporation aside from the church, although both organizations are located together.
