<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Speaks to community leaders and groups on recreation programs. <br /> <br />Prepares quarterly and annual reports on program participation, budget status, etc. <br />Assists in the preparation of budget requests for the Department <br /> <br />Assists Department Head in overseeing tree inventory, landscape maintenance and <br />related activities in parks or on public land. <br /> <br />Assists in the preparation for scheduled activities on fields/parks for maintenance, special <br />equipment of set up. <br /> <br />Performs other duties as apparent or assigned. <br /> <br />SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br />Directly supervises seasonal employees in the Recreation Department. Carries out <br />supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the City's policies and applicable laws. <br />Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; <br />and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Responsibilities also include the <br />ability to effectively recommend recruiting and hiring; rewarding and disciplining <br />employees, promoting, demoting, suspending and discharging of employees. <br /> <br />QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty <br />satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals <br />with disabilities to perform the essential functions. <br /> <br />EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE <br /> <br />Bachelor's Degree in Recreation or related field. Minimum of two (2) years experience in <br />organizing and conducting youth and adult recreation activities. <br /> <br />LANGUAGE SKILLS <br /> <br />Ability to read and interpret documents such as reports, policies, and regulations, <br />contracts, and procedure manuals. Ability to prepare reports and correspondence. Ability <br />to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with supervisors, City staff, <br />employees, volunteers, elected and appointed officials and the general public. <br />
