<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />SEPTEMBER 9, 2002 13 <br /> <br />The Council welcomed Mr. Hellegers to the City. <br /> <br />B. Recommendation: Operations & Maintenance Worker Aaron Andrews <br /> <br />Mr. Lynch eXplained at the May 13, 2002 Council meeting, the Council authorized <br />the City Administrator to begin the hiring process for replacement of one 0 & M <br />employee, with a 60-day overlap period to train and to return to the City Council <br />with a recommendation for hire. He stated at the conclusion of the final interview <br />process and completion of a successful Criminal Background Check, Aaron <br />Andrews was selected for the position. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council Member Grant moved and Council Member Aplikowski <br />seconded a motion to approve the hiring of Mr. Andrews to the <br />position of 0 & M employee at a starting salary of $ 17.67 per hour, <br />with a probationary start date of Monday, September 16, 2002. The <br />motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />C. Election Day <br /> <br />Mr. Lynch reminded the residents that tomorrow was Election Day and <br />encouraged everyone to get out and vote. He noted that Precinct #4 was located in <br />the City Hall. <br /> <br />10. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />Council Member Grant updated Council on the Maintenance Facility Task Force. <br /> <br />Council Member Larson commented about the trail underpass at Tony Schmidt <br />Park and the upkeep of the park. He stated he would be gone from September 17 <br />through October 6 and would miss the next Council meeting as well as the Park, <br />Trails and Recreation meeting. <br /> <br />Council Member Aplikowski had no comments. <br /> <br />Council Member Rem asked if the City was doing anything to commemorate <br />September I 1, 2002. Mr. Moore replied the flag would be flown at half-staff, staff <br />would wear red, white, and blue for that day to show their support, there would be <br />
