Described below are the purposes for which the Environmental <br />Response Fund must be used per Minnesota Statute 383A.81, Subd. 2. <br />Please rank them 1-5 in order of preference. <br /> <br />Acquisition through purchase or condemnation of lands or property which <br />are polluted or contaminated with hazardous substances. <br /> <br />Paying the costs associated with indemnifying or holding harmless the <br />entity taking title to lands or property from any liability arising out of the <br />ownership, remediation, or use of the land or property <br /> <br />Paying for the costs of remediating the acquired land or property <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Paying the costs associated with remediating lands or property which are <br />polluted or contaminated with hazardous substances <br /> <br />Paying for the costs associated with improving the property for economic <br />development, recreational, housing, transportation or rail traffic. <br /> <br />2. Please rank the following statements from 1-5 in order of preference. <br /> <br />_ The County ERF should fund one or two significant projects that can have <br />Countywide impact. <br /> <br />_ The County ERF should be distributed to cities/towns for their use, <br />according to some formula to be developed. <br /> <br />_ The County ERF should be used for environmental response in priority <br />areas that other funds, such as the Metropolitan Council and the <br />Department of Trade and Economic Development, do not cover, such as <br />housing/residential properties. <br /> <br />_ The County should not collect an ERF. <br /> <br />_ The County should create a grant program to make funds available for a <br />variety of small and medium sized projects. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />01.0 <br />
