.

.

.

ARDEN HILLS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
DECEMBER 9, 2002 13

to flip up the lid. He stated he had hand delivered the letters to the residents and
placed the letters in between the doors. He stated the building was compatible and
complimentary to the neighborhood. He noted when the trees grew out, they
would provide adequate screening. He stated there were power lines that ran
along the lot and they had to be careful that they did not plant trees that would
grow into the power lines. He stated he was not in support of an eight-foot fence
for maintenance reasons, as well as the safety reasons, since eight foot fences were
easier to topple in high winds.

Mayor Probst stated he recognized that the residents were not happy with the
project, but he did not believe the residents would not be happy with any
development on the site. He stated this was a better project than the currently
approved PUD, and he would be supporting the motion.

MOTION: Council Member Grant moved and Council Member
Aplikowski seconded a motion to extend the meeting to
midnight. The motion carried unanimously (5-0).

The main motion carried unanimously (5-0).

Mr. Parrish requested item 6F be moved before item 6B.

F. Authorize Execution of CUB Foods Development Agreement

Mr. Parrish presented the Master and Final Planned Unit Development between
the City and CUB Foods. He noted CUB Foods intended to begin construction
next spring and hoped to be completed by next fall.

Council Member Larson questioned the landscaping plan and asked for
clarification.

Paul Tucci, Oppidan Development, stated when they had spoken the last time at
the meeting, Council Member Larson wanted landscaping along both sides of the
building. He stated the original plans called for a sidewalk and they eliminated the
sidewalk and put in shrubs instead. He noted it was difficult to see this on the
plan, but the landscaping was proposed to be on both sides of the building.
