December 10, 2002 from Kathleen Wallace, DNR Regional Director <br /> <br />OverView <br /> <br />Attached is a letter to the GSA and Anny indicating the City's interest in pursuing acquisition of <br />TCAAP property via early transfer authority. This item was considered at the November 25, <br />2002 City Council meeting. The Council took the following action at that time: <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Council Metnber Grant moved and Council Member Rem seconded a <br />motion to table "Authorize distribution of letter to the GSA and Anny" to <br />the December 16, 2002 Council Meeting. <br /> <br />The tnotioncarried (3-2). <br /> <br />The letter requests that a Finding of Suitability for Early Transfer (FOSET) be prepared. In <br />addition, the letter requests that the GSA and Anny begin the process of requesting a covenant <br />deferral from the Governor's office. As discussed at a previous Work Session, the letter requests <br />that steps be taken to begin the early transfer process, however, it does not obligate the City to a <br />transfer. Finally, since this item was discussed at the November 25th meeting, staff has added <br />language more clearly identifying the areas the City would like to pursue via an early transfer. It <br />is hoped that this is responsive the request made in Kathleen Wallace's December 10, 2002 <br />letter. <br /> <br />Requested Action <br /> <br />Sign and authorize distribution of the letter to the GSA <br />
