<br />(Thanksgiving Day); and December 25 (Christmas Day); provided, <br />when January 1 (New Year's Day, July 4 (Independence Day), . <br />November 11 (Veteran's Day) or December 25 (Christmas Day) falls <br />on Sunday, the following day shall be a holiday, and if any of <br />said dates fall upon a Saturday, the preceding day shall be a <br />holiday. During the term of this Agreement, each Employee <br />covered hereunder shall be entitled, in addition to the fore- <br />going holidays, to work only one-half (i) of the last working <br />day before the Christmas and New Year's holidays and to receive <br />pay at his base pay rate for the one-half (i) day he did not <br />work. <br /> <br />In addition to the foregoing paid holidays and as provided in <br />Section 3F. of Ordinance No. 83, as amended by Ordinance No. 187, <br />the Employer's Personnel Ordinance, each said employee shall be ~ <br />entitled to one additional paid holiday of his choice provided <br />the date he has selected for such additional holiday has been <br />first approved by the Superintendent of the Public Works <br />Department of the Employer. <br /> <br />F) Uniform Allowance. The employer shall provide an annual uniform <br />allowance of $202.00 for each employee. consisting of $150.00 <br />for clothing and $52.00 for cleaning. The cleaning allowance is <br />payable semiannually to each employee at the rate of $26.00 in <br />January and July. Employees shall purchase uniforms and jackets <br />from the same vendor semiannually, not to exceed the allowance <br />per employee. If an employee does not use the $150.00 for <br />uniforms and jackets, he will be reimbursed annually for gloves, <br />boots, rain suites etc. which he has purchased. Receipts for these <br />purchases are required. <br /> <br />G) Mileage Reimbursement; Attendance at Training Schools or Seminars. <br />Each employee covered hereunder shall be entitled to receive a <br />$.20 per mile reimbursement on account of his use of a private <br />vehicle to travel to and from a recognized school of training or <br />a seminar which will enhance his knowledge in a field directly <br />connected with or related to the functions he performs as an <br />employee of the Employer; provided. however, that his attendance <br />at any such school or seminar must have"been first approved by <br />the Superintendent of the Public Works Department before the <br />Employee will be entitled to attend such school or seminar and <br />to obtain the aforesaid reimbursement. <br /> <br />H) Compensatory Time-Off in Lieu of Overtime Pay. <br />Each said employee shall be entitled to take, in lieu of overtime <br />pay for overtime hours worked, compensatory time-off based upon <br />one and one-half (Ii) hours per hour of overtime work; or in <br />lieu of standby status pay, compensatory time-off on an hour for <br />hour basis. Whenever, at the end of a pay period, he has accumulated <br />more than forty (40) hours. he must use the amount over forty (40) <br />during the following pay period or be paid in cash. <br /> <br />I) Injury on Duty. If an "Injury Duty" forces and Employee to miss <br />work, the Employer will pay the Employee for each regular day <br />missed an amount equal to the difference between a day's pay at <br />the regular base rate and the amount payable to the Employee for <br />that day by Workmen's Compensation up to a maximum of twenty six I <br />(26) days.
