<br />15. <br /> <br />PROJECT TEAM (1 page or less) <br />Identify the participants on the development and management team, including <br />owner/developer, manager, architect, consultants, Describe the experience of principal <br />participants, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The North Metro 1-35W Corridor Coalition in collaboration with the University of Minnesota <br />Design Center for American Urban Landscape will lead and coordinate this project. They have <br />been working in collaboration for nearly two years. Representatives of affected local, regional, <br />and state entities would be invited to advise and inform the study on a regular basis, <br /> <br />The Coalition has been in existence since December 1996 and has developed and launched a <br />subregional GIS and overseen several studies and projects supported with funding through <br />Minnesota State Legislature, the State of Minnesota Department of Trade and Economic <br />Development, The McKnight Foundation, the Metropolitan Council, Metro GIS Council, <br />Ramsey County, Anoka County, Northern States Power Company, Williams Energy Company, <br />and Minnesgasco. <br /> <br />The Design Center for American coordinated Tracks I and 2 of the Phase I Urban Design and <br />Transportation Study and currently is engaged in several urban design and policy applied <br />research projects that explore implementation of livable community strategies in suburban <br />communities and development of methods and tools for replication, This work is being done <br />under grants from the McKnight Foundation, the Surdna Foundation, and the University of <br />Minnesota Center for Transportation Studies, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />A consultant team would be established, Member may include, but would not be limited to the <br />following individuals or firms, Consultants would be selected based upon their expertise and <br />expcrience in livable community or smart growth principles, knowledge and experience with <br />existing Coalition data and work, or expertise in a specialized field critical to the study. <br />Fred Dock, Barton-Aschman - transportation consultant in Phase I on the Coalition's <br />Land Use and Transportation study area; co-investigator in Livable Subregional Arterial <br />Study fund by the University of Minnesota Center for Transportation Studies, <br />John Carpenter, Insight Mapping - GIS consultant in socioeconomic and demographic <br />data development and analysis using methods developed by Insight and tested by <br />Coalition communities, <br />Jerry Happel, PlanSight - GIS consultant in land use data dcvelopment and software <br />application and development; has been on contract with the Coalition since 1997. <br />Barbara Raye - consultant in governmental, organizational, and human services <br />development; participated in Phase I development work that led to proposed structure <br />being tested by the Coalition. <br />Peter Calthorpe Associates - an urban design consulting firm with nationally recognized <br />expertise in transit-oriented development; consulting with the Metropolitan Council on <br />the St. Croix Valley Transportation and Land Usc Study and the Transit-Oriented <br />Development Handbook for the Twin Cities region, <br />Economic & Planning Systems (EPS) - a consulting firm with nationally-recognized <br />expertisc market feasibility of transit-oriented land uses and building types and <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />16 <br />
