ARDEN HILLS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
DECEMBER 16, 2002

4

.

D. Resolution No. 02-69: Resolution Appointing Planning Commission
Members

MOTION: Council Member Grant moved and Council Member
Aplikowski seconded a motion to approve Reso]ution No. 02-
69: Reso]ution Appointing Planning Commission Members
Liz Modesette and Clay Larson. The motion carried
unanimously (5-0).

5. PUBLIC HEARINGS

None.

6. COMMUNITY SERVICES

A. Ramsey County Rice Creek Corridor Park Master Plan Amendment

Mr. Parrish stated Ramsey County was requesting that the City evaluate a
proposed Park Master Plan Amendment to the Rice Creek North Regiona] Trai]
Master Plan. He noted it was necessary for the City to make a finding that the
proposed Park Plan Amendment was consistent with the Arden Hills
Comprehensive Plan.

.

Mayor Probst stated he could not support this as written because the City needed
to preserve the option of a north/south connection.

Council Member Ap]ikowski noted she, also, could not support this as written
because it was premature. She believed the land should only be in two parcels.
She stated it tied the City to not really knowing if they had a north/south
transportation connection.

Council Member Rem suggested they postponed making a decision on this until
the January Council meeting, when they would have documentation on the
available options. She noted this was a substantia] change to what was originally
presented.

Council Member Larson stated his concern was that he wanted to see a wildlife
corridor, and he believed they needed to have a north/south connection, which was

.
