The 2020 ADT volumes provided in the Draft AUAR for the affected roadways within
the study area included trips generated by the Guidant Carnpus as well as background
traffic. The 2020 ADT volumes generated exclusively by the Guidant Carnpus for
affected roadways will be included in the Final AUAR, and are as follows.

.

CR F (between Hamline and Lexington): ADT varies between 5,400 and 4,300*

.

CR 96 (between Hamline and Lexington): ADT 00,300

.

Hamline Avenue (between CR 96 and CR F): ADT 01'3,100

Lexington Avenue (between CR 96 and CR F): ADT varies between 9,000 and
6,500*

.

1-694 (between Hamline and Lexington interchanges): ADT 01'3600

* Because of significant side street traffic the ADT varies from one roadway segment to
the next.

2. Carpooling with prefcrential parking spaces was identified as a Travel Demand
Management (TDM) measure in Item 2l (Traffic) of the Draft AUAR. Vanpooling is
being considered by Guidant as a potential TDM measure, thus it has been added to the
Travel Demand Management (TDM) section ofthe Final AUAR along with carpooling as
eligible for preferential parking.

3. A transit section was added to the Final AUAR, under Item 21 (Traffic) to identify thc
Metro Transit routes currcntly servicing the study area. Routes 224, 226 and 227 are
identified as routcs within the study area that travel along Lexington Avenue. Transit
service for these routes is jimited. Routes 224, 226 and 227 servc the area in the morning
(between approximately 6:20 - 7:52 a.m.l and in the jate afternoon (from approximately
3:30 - 6:00 p.m.).

The Guidant Campus expansion includes an internaj sidewalk system for pedestrian
circulation throughout the campus. This internal system of sidewalks will not directly
connect to the City's Lexington A venue trail that provides pedestrian access to the
Lexington A venue/CR F transit stop.

The City of Ardcn Hills Comprehensive Plan identifies a proposed CR F traij that would
connect Hamline Avenue and Lexington Avenue. A connection to this pjanned trail from
potential internal sidewalk along Femwood Avenue may eventually provide a direct
conncction from thc campus to the Lexington Avenue/CR F transit stop. At this time no
other internal campus paths are planned to connect to the City's peripheral trail system
due to the constraints of wetlands and existing trees and vegetation.

Guidant Campus Master Plan
Responses to Comments

January 2003

- 2-
