New bus loop1entrance and administration area Construction activities continue throughout more than hail. of the schools in the District.Although e;lch building is undergoing unique upgrades, all schools are receiving state-of-the-art mechanical systems and deferred maintenance. All work is supported by revenue provided by the $80 million bond referendum, passed by the community in 1999. Multipurpose room addition Pinewood Elementary also received several new improvements that go beyond the scope of the original bond construction initiative. All carpet in the building ha~ been removed and replaced with vinyl tile. The school also has a new roof. III Island Lake Elementary School, Shoreview . New gymnasium construction . P ::Ji A-~-k. ~ i \-/ Ongoing in 2002.2003 II Sunnyside Elementary School, New Brighton At Sunnyside Elementary, new addition construction began thi's summer on the classroom wing and the chiller room. Also, site work has begun for tlw new bus lane and additional parking. New construction areas wili be ongoing through the end of the 2002-2003 school year. Ongoing in 2002 - 2003, Summer 2003 and Fall 2003 . Mounds View High School, Arden Hills With the exception of the new theater, all areas of Mounds View High School me in use as intended, including the new music suite, athletic areas and the space for the Family and Consumer Science (FACS) program. The theater will be fully completed and utilized in spring 2003. Life safety and HVAC work in the athletic areas wili be completed in summer 2003. Minor room and corridor finishes will be done in summer 2003 as well, posing no disruption to students and staff. ~ III Irondale High School, New Brighton vVhen students and staff arrived th is fall, they saw completed site work that included an expanded cafeteria, a renovated kitchen, two new classrooms, and a renovated mod/tech room. The new gymnasium structure is taking shape. as is the new entrance and the new music area. Work will continue throughout the 2002- 2003 school year with completion anticipated for October 2003. II Turtle Lake Elementary School, Shoreview At Turtle Lake Elementary,an existing courtyard will be converted to additional classroom space.A large new addition on the south side will create the new main entrance area and expand the administration area. There will also be renovations lo most classrooms and extensive site work with the addition of a complete ring road around the grounds. Work will continue until January 2004.
