(e

-

~

.,

A.

'If.

Entry Way Signage. The task force recommends that two entry way signs
should be located along Highway 96. The first at the southwest comer of
Highway 96 and Lexington Avenue. The second at the southeast comer of
Highway 96 and Interstate 35W,

The task force recommends that the sign face be constructed of a monolithic
cast stone (8 inches wide) in a light gray with recessed black letters, Also,
that "anti-graffiti" coating should be applied to the sign, The task force
recommends that the City consider using Windsor font on the entry way
slgnage.

The task force recommends that cut stone pieces of granite, which is a waste
product of the manufacturing process, be used for the retaining walls. The
task force recommends that the rainbow colored granite be used for the
retaining wall color. The task force also recommends at-grade lighting be
provided behind the retaining walls to provide directional lighting at the sign
face.

The task force recommends that the City pursue the mature evergreen
landscaping on the Twin Cities Anny Ammunition Plant (TCAAP) to
include behind the signs. The task force also recommends the inclusion of
annual planting beds with retaining walls to help visually define the entry
signs, Lastly, the task force recommends pursuing the assistance of Ramsey
County for surplus dirt for berming at the Lexington Avenue sign, given
Ramsey County's current road construction in the area.

B.

Median Landscaping. The task force recommends the inclusion of turf with
underground irrigation as the preferred ground cover for the median. The
task force also recommends that the addition of ornamental trees at the ends
of these tree groups (provided by Ramsey County) with low level shrubs
beneath the ornamental trees,

c.

City Hall access. The task force would recommend that if the
redevelopment of the City Hall site does not require the use of the median
cut (in front of Public Works driveway), then the median cut be relocated to
Keithson Drive, which is at the top of the hill and has the potential for
expansion into the Reiling property,

D.

Noise walL The task force does not recommend the provision of a noise
wall, but would recommend the provision of additionallandscaping/benning
by Ramsey County in those residential areas (ie" Arden Manor Mobile
Home Park) in which residents are directly adjacent to the roadway and do
not have the proper building setback.
