<br />Fort Sheridan - Chicaeo. Illinois <br /> <br />Fort Sheridan is a federal facility located in Lake County, Illinois, <br />approximately 25 miles north of Chicago, Illinois, and 18 miles south of <br />the Wisconsin state line along the western shore of Lake Michigan. The <br />overall facility comprises 712 acres, including surp Ius property (406 <br />acres), property owned by the Navy (206 acres), and property owned by <br />the Army Reserve (l00 acres). Tetra Tech is part of a team executing a <br />Guaranteed Fixed Price Remediation approach to the cleanup of 4 <br />landfills, 2 former coal storage areas, a fOWler pesticides storage facility, a <br />lead-based paint contaminated water tower area, and installation-wide <br />underground storage tanks. The work includes identifying and addressing <br />community and redevelopment issues while constructing remedies that <br />comply with the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation <br />and Liability Act. The team will be assessing risk, developing remedial <br />alternatives and implementing them while at the same time reducing the <br />site closure timeframe. <br /> <br />Port of Oakland - Oakland. California <br /> <br />Tetra Tech has provided the Port of Oakland with environmental <br />consulting services in hazardous material investigation and remediation, <br />which have played key roles in: (l) helping the Port successfully transfer <br />the entire 530-acre Fleet and Industrial Supply Center 3 years ahead of <br />schedule; (2) removing permitting obstacles to the associated dredging of <br />the proposed turning basin in the Port's Inner Harbor; and (3) facilitating <br />the ongoing redevelopment of the Port's real estate holdings, Tetra Tech <br />completed investigation at the site under an accelerated schedule and <br />prepared a focused feasibility study (FS) that evaluated remediation <br />options in a shortened timeframe to meet the aggressive schedule for <br />property transfer. Because of Tetra Tech's technical expertise and track <br />record for success in resolving concerns raised by regulatory agencies, the <br />Port contracted Tetra Tech to continue the process through the fmal FS, <br />subsequent remedial action plan, and the long-term groundwater <br />monitoring plan, <br />
