.

.

.

MDA Biography

Bill Handschin, Ph.D., L.P.
Senior Consultant

Bill Handschin brings out the best in people with his excellent listening skills and
ability to connect with managers and executives. His experience with research and
validation helps him understand and appreciate technical and analytical personalities.
Clients appreciate his patient, welcoming demeanor and his ability to give clear,
straightforward feedback in complicated situations.

Bill's expertise is shaped by years of real-world experience in working with people
who have technical minds. He started his career as a research scientist working on a
wide range of products from custard filled pastries to breast cancer medicines. He
made the leap into consulting after being fascinated with the difficult transition that
technical professionals faced when advancing into management. Today, Bill has
experience helping with talent management in a variety of organizations in financial
services, retail, manufacturing, public utilities, technology, education, and
government.

Bill co-authored the book Reinventing Yourself Life Planning After 50 with Sandra
Davis, and has completed numerous professional articles and presentations-too
many to mention here. He has also served on the board of the Minnesota Professional
for Psychology Applied to Work.

He completed his B.A. in Zoology and M.S. in Genetics and Cell Biology from the
University of Minnesota. He also earned a Ph.D. in Counseling and
Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Minnesota. He is an
adjunct professor at St. Mary's University and an instructor in the Counseling
Psychology Training Program at the University of Mimlesota. He is a licensed
psychologist in the state of Minnesota.

Bill gets really excited about trains! He is a tireless volunteer and a member of the
Minnesota Transportation Museum's Board of Trustees. It's a good idea to ask Bill
about his collection of photographs of large-scale cement public animal scuJptures-
Paul Bunyan's companion, Babe the Blue Ox, isjust one of hundreds he's collected
over the years.

You can contact Bill at 612-259-4244 or bhands@mdaconsultinggroup.com
