Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Arden Hills <br />and Brenda Davitt <br /> <br />Overview <br /> <br />At the February 28, 2003 Council meeting, staff was authorized to pursue and agreement to <br />retain temporary finance and accounting services. Subsequent to that meeting, staff has been <br />working with the City of Roseville to provide this service. <br /> <br />After evaluating options with Roseville, it was determined that the appropriate approach would <br />be to retain the Assistant Finance Director, Brenda Davitt, on an independent basis. See the <br />attached e-mail from Chris Miller for additional information. <br /> <br />I am confident that Ms. Davitt will be able to effectively manage the City's finances until a new <br />City Accountant / City Treasurer can be hired. In addition, Ms. Davitt chairs the local <br />Springbrook users group. This will be an asset as the City completes its conversion to the <br />Springbrook finance software package. <br /> <br />The attached Memorandum of Understanding outlines the general nature of the relationship <br />between the City and Ms. Davitt. In general, Ms. Davitt will be compensated at a rate of $55 per <br />hour. By way of comparison, we currently charge $40 per hour for office support and $60 per <br />hour for professional positions. For example, work performed in conjunction with a planning <br />
