This unit resets its discharge air temperature between 550 and 950
based on the zone temperature set point that can be adjusted at the local thermostat. The
item that makes this unit different from air handling unit 2 is that the community area has
radiation heating along the outside walls.

The operation of the fin tube radiation for this space is not clearly defined in control
section 15950. The radiation is now being controlled to a 7CJ> set point outside of the slider on
the local thermostat. The current sequence is if the zone temperature drops below 700 the
radiation valve is driven open 100%. When the zone temperature raises above 720 the
radiation valve is closed 100%. The zone would be better served if the control of the radiation
valve was incorporated into the thermostat slider set point.
This unit is not operating according to the original design specifications as described in
section 3.10 in control section 15950. Furthermore, the current operation of the unit does not
match the sequence of operation as described in the as-built drawings delivered to the owner
from the controls contractor.
This unit has a control-wiring problem that could potentially damage the equipment and
should be corrected as soon as possible. Refer to the functional test results for this unit and
the low temperature protection device section.
Please see this section for further information on all observations.
