Letter from School District <br /> <br />Overview <br /> <br />Approximately a year ago the Council convened the Maintenance Facility Taskforce to evaluate <br />the City's potential involvement in a joint public works facility with Ramsey County. Over the <br />course of approximately ten meetings, the Taskforce evaluated many facets of the City's <br />potential partnership in this facility including, but not limited to the following: <br /> <br />)- Evaluation of the existing operations and maintenance facility and previously completed <br />space needs analysis <br />)- Exploration of potential efficiencies that could be achieved by partnering with Ramsey <br />County such as common heated storage, access to the County's fuel island, and salt and <br />sand facility. <br />)- Review of interior building layout particularly as it pertains to Arden Hills' portion of the <br />facility and shared spaces with the school district. <br />)- Evaluation of fundamental operating concepts including allocation of common space, <br />ownership vs. lease etc. . . <br />)- Consideration of both up front capital costs and ongoing operations costs. <br />
