Written Statement <br /> <br />L Size of tract. <br />The site is a 41.89 acre parcel of triangular shape, bounded by <br />Highway 96 on the North, Snelling Avenue on the East, and Highway <br />10 on the west. <br /> <br />2. Nature of applicant's interest. <br />A planned unit development for North Heights Lutheran Church was <br />originally approved by thc city in planning case 84-21. The concept <br />PUD defined a four stage development program. The original PUD <br />was amended with planning case 95-05 for a major addition to the <br />church as well as to revise the original four stage development <br />program to a three stage master plan. The first and sccond stages of <br />the master plan have been completed at this time. <br /> <br />This application is to revise the current approved master plan scope <br />and revise the three stage plan back to four stages. <br /> <br />Stage three will be the addition of a new 4,000 seat sanctuary with <br />support spaces, new administrative offices, classrooms and <br />gathering spaces. The existing 1,200 seat sanctuary will be used <br />as a youth auditorium. <br /> <br />Stage four will be the addition of a new retreat center. <br /> <br />3. The Development Concept. <br />Stage three will be the addition of a new 4,000 seat sanctuary with <br />support spaces, new administrative offices, classrooms and gathering <br />spaces.
