<br />Practice Overview
<br />The Firm has represented companies and individuals in environmental matters for the past
<br />quarter century. This work has included the representation of waste disposal companies,
<br />manufacturers, waste generators, real estate development and financing interests, agricultural
<br />interests, municipalities, and environmental consultants under all major environmental statutes,
<br />including the National Environmental Policy Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act
<br />("RCRA"), the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act
<br />("CERCLA"), the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, the Toxic Substances Control Act ("TSCA")
<br />and underground storage tank: laws. The Firm also has represented companies under state and local
<br />laws regulating the environment and the siting of waste disposal facilities. As part of its
<br />environmental representation the Firm has assisted its clients in seeking and securing environmental
<br />permits, variances and zoning approvals; defended environmental enforcement actions before state
<br />and federal agencies and courts; advised and defended clients concerning hazardous waste regulation
<br />and toxic waste cleanups; conducted environmental assessments of real property; assisted clients in
<br />perfonning environmental compliance self-audits; defended clients against toxic tort lawsuits; pursued
<br />insurance coverage on its clients' behalf; and assisted clients in all phases of environmental regulation
<br />and litigation. These activities are discussed in more detail below.
