<br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION <br />JUNE 23, 2003 <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />2.A Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee: Project Priorities <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee (PTRC) Members Rich Straumann and <br />Bill Henry provided the Mayor and Council with a list of identified City Parks <br />projects that the committee had prioritized as follows: <br /> <br />. Extra large projects which are projects that require collaboration with <br />other bodies to complete. (E.g. Bridge over 35W, Highway 96 <br />underpass, Trail crossing on bridge over Highway 51, Trail along Old <br />Snelling and the widening ofthe Railroad underpass on Old Snelling) <br /> <br />. Large projects including buildings to be paid from the Park Fund. <br />(E.g. Perry Park, Hazelnut Park, Floral Park, Valentine Park, walking <br />trail along County Road F and Valentine Lake Road and the Library <br />Area Trail.) <br /> <br />. Medium projects defined as projects including park signage and new <br />trails to be paid from the $50,000 available from City funding such as <br />buckthorn removal, installation of water at Valentine Park and picnic . <br />shelters. <br /> <br />Mr. Henry and Mr. Straumann presented a Trail Update and further recommended <br />that the City Council spend the entire Park Fund on the large noted projects to be <br />completed in 2004 and 2005. <br /> <br />The Mayor and Council requested the PTRC bring forth a formal priority list at a <br />subsequent Council Work Session. <br /> <br />Staff Updates: <br /> <br />Mr. Moore reported that the preliminary work had commenced on the 2003 <br />Pavement Management Program. He noted that the recently approved seal-coating <br />project had started and mentioned that he would bring forth discussion items <br />including the reconstruction of an additional lift station and trail extensions at the <br />next Work Session. <br /> <br />Mr. Parrish reported that the Karth Lake water level issue continued to be <br />monitored, and will likely be brought forth to Council for discussion in July; the . <br />
