<br />ARDEN HILLS REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />JULY 14, 2003 <br /> <br />14 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mr. Parrish pointed out that today's setback could be different from what the <br />setback requirements were 10 or 20 years ago. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden asked if they were at risk of flooding the other lakes by <br />pumping Karth Lake. <br /> <br />Mr. Landwer replied if there were flooding risks, they could stop the pumping. <br />He noted they would work with the DNR when to trigger the pumping to start. He <br />indicated they would not pump down below the high water level mark. He stated <br />the down street impacts to Valentine Lake would be monitored. He noted when <br />they pumped last year there was no noticeable difference to Valentine Lake. He <br />stated Valentine Lake had a good outlet. He noted the City would have flexibility <br />with their pumping of Karth Lake. He indicated there would be a seasonal <br />elevation matrix they would follow for pumping. <br /> <br />Art Larson, 1180 Karth Lake Drive, stated his home was about 30 feet up so he <br />was not worried about flooding, but he did agree there was a problem with the <br />water level on the lake, and he did not have a problem contributing to the solution. <br />He thanked the Council for what they were doing. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mayor Aplikowski closed the Public Hearing at 9:12 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Moore thanked the residents for coming tonight. He noted the minutes of the <br />meeting would be posted on the website and if any residents wanted a copy of the <br />minutes and did not have access to a computer, he would be happy to mail a copy <br />of the minutes to them. He stated another public notice would be mailed to the <br />residents when the next meeting was scheduled. <br /> <br />Mayor Aplikowski stated Council did understand the urgency of this and they <br />would work on a solution as soon as they possibly could. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden <br />Councilmember Holden stated Newsletter articles were due on July 16.
