Anniversary Date <br /> <br />Shall mean the month and day of initial hiring or <br />promotion of an employee. <br /> <br />Benefits <br /> <br />Benefits shall mean indirect compensation ...allfi}' <br />pfi ;ilege. granted to employees. <br /> <br />Benefit Year <br /> <br />March 1 - February 28. <br /> <br />Certified Bargaining Unit <br /> <br />Group of employees who have been determined by <br />the State to have a common interest in the <br />collective bargaining process and whose interest has <br />been determined as appropriate by the State. <br /> <br />Class <br /> <br />A position or group of positions similar in respect <br />to their duties and responsibilities so that the same <br />tide can reasonably be used and the same salary <br />schedule may be applied to the position. <br /> <br />Compensatory Time <br /> <br />Time off from work at the eR1f'loyee'J floffillll <br />sErllight I'ime rste of rOY. Fer rcg,dsr for employees <br />not exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor <br />Standards Act., Ceompensatory time shall be <br />computed at one and one-half times the number of <br />overtime hours worked. <br /> <br />. Demotion <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The placement of an employee in a position having <br />a lower pay and! or less responsibility than the <br />position previously hdd. This could involve a <br />reduction in salary due to incompetency, <br />inefficiency, or misconduct. <br /> <br />Exempt Employee <br /> <br />An employee who is exempt from the overtime <br />provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. <br /> <br />Flex-Time <br /> <br />Time off from work for exempt employees. <br />May only be used in increments of 9-hours or <br />less, no consecutive days, maximum accrual of <br />80 hours. <br /> <br />Grievance <br /> <br />A dispute or disagreement regarding the <br />interpretation or application of the specific terms <br /> <br />2 <br />
