To accomplish that goal we are: <br /> <br />Moving the laundry to the main level <br /> <br />Planning alarger kitchen that wiU work for changing needs of <br />accessibility issues. The kitchen is being designed with sit down work <br />space and and conversion capabilities as needs change. <br /> <br />Providing a wide enongh space for family gatherings The present 10' <br />6' width of the family room does not. work with adult children + <br />gl'llndchildren.) Our family has expanded, lives nearby and visits <br />often. ' <br /> <br />- Renovating bathrooms to. work for this stage of life while <br />remaining aesthetically pleasing for any stage oOife. <br /> <br />"' We have converted a bedroom to anofficelstudio space. <br /> <br />-We are unable to expand to the north or50uth because of side setbacks. The street <br />direction isn't an option with that 40' setback.Ou the lakeside there would be space on <br />. . <br />the bedroom side of the house within the setback area without a variance. However, we <br />need the additional splice in the kitchen! family room side of the house. <br /> <br />The hardship has happened because of lakeshore erosion and differences in drainage that <br />were beyond our control. We would not need to request a variance if the legal purchase <br />footage had not washed away in that section of the shoreline. <br /> <br />-Our goal has alwaysOOen to preselYe the integrity and natural character of the <br />neighborhood. Granting this variance would not affect that in any way- <br /> <br />-The DNR and Rice Creek Watershed District have reviewed this proposal and have no <br />objections. Enclosed is a letter from Rice Creek. Travis Gennansund administrator from <br />the DNR, visited the site and had no objections. <br /> <br />We tespectfully request your consideration of our variance request. <br /> <br />Carolyn and Carl Mohn <br />
