Lift Station 7 is located in the southwest comer of Lake <br />Josephine in the Presbyterian Homes property. The existing lift station is of the old "can style" <br />design and will be improved to be a submersible pump design. The project is in the CIP for <br />2005. <br /> <br />The project was discussed at the July 21, 2003 worksession as a candidate to take advantage of <br />the favorable bid climate and utilize funds allocated for lift station rehabilitation in 2003 and not <br />encumbered by the Lift Station #2 and #5 rehabilitation project. The 2003 budget for lift station <br />rehabilitation is $400,000 and approximately $325,000 has been encumbered for engineering <br />and construction costs for Lift Stations #2 and #5. The estimated project cost for Lift Station #7 <br />is $llO,OOO ($95,000 construction +$15,000 engineering/inspection). The project will be funded <br />entirely by the City Sanitary Sewer Utility. The project is planned to be combined with the Karth <br />Lake Pumping hnprovements for bidding with the intention of realizing some cost savings <br />through economy of scale. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />The City Engineer recommends that Council authorize the advertisement for construction bids <br />for the Lift Station #7 Rehabilitation Project. <br /> <br />PROIECTS\ARDENHIL\37951IGENERALIDocuments\Agenda Memo 8-25-03 Item 7 Adoc <br />
