Presently, the Community Services <br />Department is accountable for Planning, Building, and Finance. In addition to supervising the <br />Planner, Building Official, and Accountant/Treasurer, the Community Services Director is also <br />responsible for economic development/redevelopment, technology, and assisting the City <br />Administrator with general operations. <br /> <br />Based on my preliminary assessment and feedback from staff, I would like to propose for <br />Council consideration an alternative approach for filling this position. <br /> <br />ProDosed Alternative <br /> <br />For a number of reasons, I would propose that the City Council consider reconstituting the <br />Community Services Department into a Community Development Department and Finance <br />Department. From an administrative perspective, I think this would be advantageous for several <br />reasons: <br />
