<br />. , <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />City of Arden Hills <br />Job Description <br /> <br />POSITION: <br />DEPARTMENT: <br />REPORTS TO: <br /> <br />AccountanVT rea surer <br />Community Services <br />Director of Community Services <br /> <br />SUMMARY <br /> <br />Prepares, analyzes, develops and maintains all financial statements, records and reports. <br />Coordinates and supervises all clerical functions of the finance office and prepares annual <br />fiscal reports. <br /> <br />ESSENTiAl FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION <br /> <br />Establishes and implements sound accounting policies and practices. <br /> <br />Directs and coordinates preparation of and monitors the annual budget. <br /> <br />Directs investments based on established City policies and makes recommendations for <br />changes based on market or needs. <br /> <br />Establishes controls for debt management to ensure the City meets its financial <br />obligations. <br /> <br />Oversees all accounting activities including cash receipts, cash disbursements, payroll, <br />collections and billing. <br /> <br />Manages charitable gambling activities and audits for ordinance compliance. <br /> <br />Keeps City Administrator informed on all financial activities. <br /> <br />Performs other duties as apparent or assigned. <br /> <br />SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br />Directly supervises employees in the Finance Department. Carries out supervisory <br />responsibilities in accordance with the City's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities <br />include planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding; assisting in disciplining <br />employees; evaluating performance; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. <br />
